The farm is situated at the beginning of the Stormberg mountains, where temperatures fall well below zero during the winter months. This keeps the water very cold for most of the year. Huge weedbeds provide the ideal habitat for aquatic invertebrates and vertebrates. This continuous source of food, means, the fish are very well fed and grow to prodigious sizes.

Do not arrive with inferior equipment. Good quality rods and reels with the correct lines are of utmost importance. Good quality cold weather gear is essential, as the temperatures can be some of the lowest you will experience in Southern Africa.

Fishermen are accommodated in an old farmhouse within proximity of the waters. The farmhouse is large and comfortable with DSTV in the lounge and has Wi-Fi connectivity. Each guest has their own room, of which most are en-suite. Meals are cooked in-house by the lodge staff and are excellent.
