Description
Keep sand, silt and gravel out of your wading boots with the Horizon Gravel Guards. Constructed from 3mm neoprene, these gravel guards wrap securely around the top of your wading boot and extend up the calf to create a reliable seal against debris. Whether you're wading rocky freestone streams in KwaZulu-Natal or fishing the saltwater flats of the Seychelles, Horizon’s Gravel Guards keep the inside of your boots clean of annoying debris ensuring you of a comfortable day’s wading.
Left and right specific design. Unlike generic one-piece gravel guards, each Horizon guard is designed to wrap in a specific direction so the closure flap always faces outward — away from your opposite leg. This prevents the tag from catching or rubbing against the other boot while walking and wading, and keeps the Velcro securely sealed even in strong currents.
The adjustable hook-and-loop (Velcro) closures allow you to dial in a snug, personalised fit over any wading boot, while metal lace hooks anchor the guard to your boots’ laces to prevent them from riding up during extended wading sessions.
When do you need gravel guards?
Gravel guards are essential if your stockingfoot waders don't have built-in guards, or if the built-in guards on your current waders have seen better days. They're also ideal for wet wading — when you're fishing in boots without waders during warmer months. Every step in a river pushes sand and gravel towards the top of your boots, and without gravel guards that debris works its way inside, causing discomfort and accelerating wear on your boots and your wader’s neoprene booties.
