These rods utilise advanced Nanohoop graphite technology for strength and responsiveness. They feature high-quality fittings, including reversed half-wells grips crafted with AAA-grade cork. Every component reflects the attention to detail required for competitive angling.

Balance and Sensitivity

The 3-weight model includes a down-locking reel seat that shifts swing weight lower and enhances tip sensitivity. Conversely, the 6-weight model features an up-locking reel seat with double locking rings. Both rods also include a short fighting butt for improved control. Each model offers tailored balance and responsiveness for its specific application.

Competition-Ready Features

The Tactical Competition Series incorporates numerous details for anglers who want every advantage while fishing. For example, measurement wraps at 30 cm and 50 cm provide instant fish length reference. Each rod includes an additional single-foot guide per section to minimise line slap as well as an inverted stripping guide which reduces line wrap. The Horizon Tactical Competition Fly Rod 3100-4 is a 10-foot, 3-weight, 4-piece rod perfect for Euro-style nymphing. Its length improves reach, keeps more line off the water and enhances drifts. It excels at managing nymph rigs while still presenting dry flies delicately and accurately. Ultimately this rod gives anglers the control needed to succeed in technical river and stream conditions.

The Horizon Tactical Competition Fly Rod 6100-4 is a 10-foot, 6-weight, 4-piece rod designed for versatility. It generates high line speed for long presentations while protecting light tippets with a sensitive tip. In addition it has proven extremely popular with stillwater anglers who need distance, strength and control in one rod. As a result it is equally effective for competitive anglers and those who fish stillwaters.
