Abel Fly Reels

Abel fly reels are made in California and built to a standard that most fishing reels never approach. Every Abel reel is machined from a single block of bar-stock aluminium, hand-assembled and individually inspected - the kind of manufacturing process that produces a reel with no perceptible play in the spool, a drag that runs as smoothly at maximum pressure as it does at minimum, and a finish that holds up to decades of salt, grit and hard use.

The Abel Super Series is the flagship - a large-arbour reel available in a range of sizes to cover freshwater trout and bass through to heavy inshore saltwater. The drag system is the standard against which other premium reels are measured: smooth, powerful and precise from the first pull. The SDS (Sealed Drag System) series applies the same machined quality with a fully sealed drag for extreme saltwater and dirty water conditions.
