Big fish & clear water!
Jurassic Lake is renowned for large non-anadromous rainbow trout. Since we began fishing here in 2004, we have regularly landed fish over 20 pounds. It is the destination that all true trout anglers must visit.
This natural lake is situated on the Patagonian plains and is only 4,500 kilometres north of the Antarctic circle. It is larger than Sterkfontein Dam and is fed by the Rio Barrancoso with its headwaters in the glaciers of the Ande’s mountains.
This results in cold, rich waters in which these rainbow trout grow extremely large. It also means that the conditions can change within hours and snow can be expected year-round.

Trophy rainbow trout in the lake and the river.
Our access to the river extends to a stretch of river, well above the lodge, where the fish remain year-round. This is some of the best dry fly fishing we have experienced. Big, wild, stream-raised, rainbows rise freely to dry flies and terrestrial patterns.
With our lodge being a stone’s throw from the river mouth, it is the ideal place at which to base your Jurassic Lake experience.

Good Food, good wine and fabulous fishing.
The lodge is luxurious with all worldly comforts. The camp chef creates excellent meals that are served in the well-appointed dining room that overlooks the lake in the long, semi-artic twilight.
Our experienced guides have an in-depth knowledge of the area, the lake, and the river.
