Fly-Rite Stomach Pump
Out of stock
We’ve been using stomach pumps on trout for as long as we can remember. They are great for checking the stomach contents of a trout without harming the fish. Simply put the tube into the water, squeeze the bulb and let the bulb suck in water. Then gently insert the tube into the fish’s stomach, squeeze the bulb (which injects the water into the fish’s stomach), then release the bulb. The food the trout was eating is then sucked up the tube into the bulb.
Note that the stomach pump will not work on yellowfish as the crushing plates at the back of the fish’s throat do not allow the pump’s tube to fit into the stomach.
