Taimen are one of those bucket list fish species we should all chase. They grow to extremely large sizes, are strong and aggressive – catching one of these monsters is one of the most exhilarating things you can do with a fly-rod in your hand.

Taimen hold a mystical place in the fly-fishers species list; not only are they the longest salmonid you will find, but they are only found in Mongolia and surrounds, a part of the world that has to be seen at least once. Drifting a large river over a couple of days will show you some of the most incredible scenery you will ever see, while at the same time catching taimen, lenok, Amur trout and pike.

 Our comfortable Mongolian style camps are situated on the banks of the river and you drift between them as you move downstream, enjoying Mongolian style cuisine and hospitality you will be hard pressed to beat.
