Taimen are one of those bucket-list fish species we should all chase. They grow extremely large, are strong and extremely aggressive. Catching a monster Taimen is one of the most exhilarating things you can do with a fly-rod in your hand.

They hold a mystical place on many fly fisher’s species lists. They are the longest Salmonid and are found only in Mongolia and its surrounds. Drifting a large river over a couple of days will show you some of the most incredible scenery you will ever see, while at the same time catching Taimen, Lenok and Amur Trout as well as Pike.

Hard Takes and Strong Runs

Taimen are an aggressive predator and have been known to have prey on animals as big as Possums. You will be left in no doubt when one has taken your fly.

They fight doggedly as they try to run you into the weeds or take you downstream. Our expert guides will manoeuvre the boat to keep you in the best position to land your trophy fish.

Unmatched Scenery and Hospitality

Our comfortable Mongolian-style camps are situated on the banks of the river. You drift between camps as you move downstream, enjoying local cuisine and genuine hospitality that you will be hard-pressed to beat.

Our guides are the most respected professional guides in the area and are chosen for their knowledge of the fish and their surroundings.
